The applicant must be a Roman Catholic Priest who prepared for and was ordained to the
priesthood outside the United States:
- Who was recently assigned to minister in the United States — exceptions can be
considered for priests who have been here for a number of years and who can profit
from the IPI program
- Who is sponsored by a U.S. Bishop or Major Superior
- Who has a functional knowledge of English
- Who is committed to following the entire program
